5-19-66
11-11-67
2-14-68
(I've never understood why Tell insist on listening to all that later stuff.)

Re: Your top three shows? |
Hmmm--good ones. I usually tap Sep 66, May and Oct 67 for those early, early era shows. Will have to revisit your selections. Good thing I can stay focused; not sure I would have the energy to cover the other 24 yrs if I moved much past 71. Getting old means knowing your limitations, as Clint would say.

Re: Your top three shows? |
Nope, I just mentioned that he is a very important client of the firm for which I work (not his ent stuff, but Mission Ranch and other properties - as you're probably well aware, he was mayor of carmel) and then added a comment or two which could probably be construed as violative of the attorney-client privilege. Just to say that every now and then the type of stalker in "Play Misty for Me" (all filmed on location around here but pre a lot of subsequent development) is not very far from the truth. Have had to handle a few odd tros....
Also, his mom is still kickin' - like McCain's (and since I've always devolve into politics, how bizarre is that according to her she's never asked about or discussed his years as a POW with him?).

Re: Your top three shows? |
Hey very cool. Yeah, from the days of Rawhide, I always like Clint.
On McCain (hope Rasta doesn't catch me doing this), though many would argue that his hero status prepares him for this job, I heard one person say, "you have to love and honor the guy for what he went thru, but how on Earth can five years in box prepare you for anything but eeking out some shred of happiness in the rest of your life?" IE, if you think about it, some experiences are so totally devastating that one could argue it works the other way...not that I am enough of an armchair analyst to say, but it is an interesting thought.
Thanks for filling me in.

Re: Your top three shows? (brief hijack to WT) |
he's being caught or imprisonment didn't make him a hero, I bet he does not consider himself as such either. I'd say his years of experience in the Senate help qualify him to be Prez.
Medal of Honor winners...now they are hero's. Firemen, all those kind.
They both say what they have to say to get elected, thats politicks.
McCain's views are an open book. Imo, Obama has a hidden agenda that he won't disclose for fear of losing votes...
now back to the thread

You hear O's acceptance speech? Nothing hidden there about his desire to grow government.

Re: Your top three shows? (brief hijack to WT) |
Yeah, that's part of the disappointment in it all...the republicans have been even better at growing it the past eight years, in all the wrong (IMHO) directions.
Yikes. As User (quoting Jerry) is always saying--the lesser of two evils is still evil. Drat.
